It Feels Like The First Time, Everytime. I Wanna Spend The Whole Night In Your Eyes

I love you more than ever, more than time and more than love
I love you more than money and more than the stars above
Love you more than madness, more than waves upon the sea
Love you more than life itself, you mean that much to me
Ever since you walked right in, the circle’s been complete
I’ve said goodbye to haunted rooms and faces in the street
To the courtyard of the jester which is hidden from the sun
I love you more than ever and I haven’t yet begun

You breathed on me and made my life a richer one to live
When I was deep in poverty you taught me how to give
Dried the tears up from my dreams and pulled me from the hole
Quenched my thirst and satisfied the burning in my soul
You gave me babies one, two, three, what is more, you saved my life
Eye for eye and tooth for tooth, your love cuts like a knife
My thoughts of you don’t ever rest, they’d kill me if I lie
I’d sacrifice the world for you and watch my senses die

The tune that is yours and mine to play upon this earth
We’ll play it out the best we know, whatever it is worth
What’s lost is lost, we can’t regain what went down in the flood
But happiness to me is you and I love you more than blood
It’s never been my duty to remake the world at large
Nor is it my intention to sound a battle charge
‘Cause I love you more than all of that with a love that doesn’t bend
And if there is eternity I’d love you there again

Oh, can’t you see that you were born to stand by my side
And I was born to be with you, you were born to be my bride
You’re the other half of what I am, you’re the missing piece
And I love you more than ever with that love that doesn’t cease
You turn the tide on me each day and teach my eyes to see
Just bein’ next to you is a natural thing for me
And I could never let you go, no matter what goes on
‘Cause I love you more than ever now that the past is gone

The planning has officially begun. Tentatively, we’ve decided to have the wedding out at Black Creek. The ceremony will likely take place on the property of John’s parents’ neighbour (they have lots of space, and a goregous outdoor garden, or so I’m told), and the banquet will be held on the Boyes’ property. We want to keep the whole affair as small as we can without excluding anyone important. A lot of our guests have children, and the kids are all being counted as guests. We’re coming up with ideas that we like. We’ve run past the idea of having a themed wedding a few times. We’ve discussed having a pirate wedding (ninjas are invited!) . That is actually a viable possibility, if we decide to have any part of the evening on a boat. I actually quite like the idea of having a wedding on a boat.

If we keep it traditional, though, here was what we were thinking:
Colors: White, Pale Champagne, Gold (and like colors)
Flowers: Calla Lillies, Tiger Lillies (orange and white), Japanese Lillies, English Tea Roses and Pale "Old Yella" and White Hibiscus
-Groom: White Tux/Cummerbund/Tie/Shirt (White or Champagne)/Diamond or Topaz Tie Pin/Gold Jewellery (if he wears any)/White Top Hat
-Groomsmen/Best Man/Ringbearer/Ushers: White Tux/Champagne Cummerbund/White Shirt/Champagne Tie/Gold Jewellery (if they wear any)/White Top Hats
-Bridesmaids/Maid Of Honor: Champagne Dresses with Gold Jewellery/White Accessories (Belts, ribbons, flowers– etc.)/Pearls
-Flower Girls: Same as Bridesmaids, but with lace accents and tulle skirts/White Gloves

This is the dress we picked. No word on whether it will be made or bought. The first is likelier.

We’re still also planning the wedding night (post party) and the honeymoon. If anyone has any good ideas, let me know! We are having a dry wedding (or BYOB, I’m fine with either) and the food is going to be potluck. Those of you who are coming in from out of town will likely be asked to bring beverages and snacks instead, since you can’t realistically bring a prepared dish of food. The tables will all be equipped with disposable cameras. We will also be setting up a high capacity email account, so guests can E-Mail their pictures. We might even have a computer at the wedding to hook cameras up to and upload the pictures onto them at the end of the night (or throughout). The main drink is going to be a non-alcoholic fruit sambuka (pomegranate juice and sparkling raspberry spritzer with chunks of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and melon in it), and dessert will be the cake (it’s going to be a small, one-layer cake with tiers made out of single-serve "cup" cakes) and sugarfree jello of different flavors.

This was just out loose idea for now. What actually happens may be radically different. I’ve given John homework: Buy a notebook, flip through magazines, surf the net and find ideas he likes.

I’m so excited to be getting married. This is the fun part– we’re about to have a total blast. One of these days, for the sake of looking around, I’m dragging some of my girls out to try on dresses. I seriously wish Lauren and Lis were here for that.

  1. woo gorgeous dress! I wish I was there too 😦

  2. Good thing I read this, I think there might have been a few details you thought you discussed with me that I might not actually have been there for 🙂 But though I do have some ideas, I’m easy to please.I mean I’d love to either arrive at the ceremony dressed all in white on horseback, or, on a ship that looks startlingly like the Black Pearl, but I’m not about to try booking a tall ship or take riding lessons. The most important thing to me is that what I want matches what you want. And I thought my homework assignment was to check out the logistics of Beacon Hill park…Whatever the case, so far I’m thinking white tux (with tails) and accents to match the rest of the wedding party. It’s only been 10 hours since I saw you last and I wish I could wrap my arms around you as we drift off to sleep.

  3. Well, like I said, come up with ideas you like. I’m down with the all-white tux. This is the easiest way to do it, I’ve found. One of these days, see if you can get access to Brandy’s computer, and copy this:Cake:ux:Dress:Groomsmen:Bridesmaids:Flowers:Flower Girls:Ringbearers:Food:Drink:Bouquet:Music:Then go online, and find pictures of what you like, or written descriptions. Post it so I can check it out… it’ll give me something to get ideas off of. I’m changeable too, and like I’ve said, it’s so, so important to me that this is as much yours as it is mine. And, oohh! I like magnolias too. Just thought of that. 🙂 and they don’t necessarily have to be real, either. I really want to start actually planning, because we have about 4-6 months left, depending on when we actually want to do this. 😛 When I got home, I buried my face into your pillow for 20 minutes just so I could smell you…
